A zine (short for “magazine”) is a small-circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced via photocopier. The current selection of zines was created by artists from TEN09 (@ten09print), a collective of printers, bookmakers, and zinesters from George Mason University’s School of Art, and curated by Christopher Kardambikis (@c.kardambikis), GMU Assistant Professor and Director of Navigation Press (@navigationpress). The Washington DC Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH in collaboration with the Torpedo Factory Art Center presents Geospatial Mapping with Craig Brower and Isaac Zaworski of VRICON. Isaac and Craig will conduct an interactive discussion on all things geospatial to include, how geospatial mapping technology, along with satellite imagery, has changed the face of traditional mapping techniques as well as how the technology has become part of our everyday lives.
