Led by accomplished authors, these workshops focus on the craft of writing as a tool for introspection, communication, and connection.
New Project Studio artists Shani Shih and Michelle Chen present In Our Eyes, an interactive workshop series centered on the power of the arts to express identity, values, and personal/collective histories and visions. Artists will lead participants in reflection on the stories that shape who we are and who we are becoming, and guide participants in the use of visual language to tell stories.
New Project Studio Resident Han Sol Jeon offers the third part in his hands-on drawing workshop. Participants will use gouache paints and pencils to draw on a large-scale sheet of paper on the wall. The final piece will be incorporated in a new collaborative work created by Han!

September's workshop will be led by the National Endowment for the Arts Lit Team: Amy Stolls (Director of Literature) Mohamed Sheriff (Literature Specialist) Jessica Flynn (Literature Specialist) Katy Day (Assistant Grants Management Specialist).

October's workshop will be led by Susanna Sonnenberg, who is the author of two NYT best-selling memoirs, HER LAST DEATH and SHE MATTERS: A LIFE IN FRIENDSHIPS. Her work has appeared in many magazines, newspapers and anthologies, and she regularly teaches writing workshops in Missoula and elsewhere.

Join Winter 2018 Post-Grad artist Kelly R. Johnston in Studio 319 for a free workshop. Visitors and artists will learn how to write an artist statement, how to organize a portfolio, and resources on where to apply for exhibitions.
