The New Project Studio presents the 2021 AIA Virginia Student Prize Exhibition
The New Project Studio will host an exhibition of the 2021 AIA Virginia Prize competition. The competition — which took place over the weekend of Jan. 22–25, 2021 — was inspired by the Equal Justice Initiative’s Community Remembrance Project and challenged students to design a pillar installation for the City of Alexandria’s Market Square.
Multi-Spectral Solo Show by Samantha L Shelton
Studio 14 - Printmakers, Inc.Printmakers Inc is proud to present Samantha Lee Shelton’s solo exhibition titled "Multi-Spectral". The exhibit features several new aquatint etchings, monotypes, and linocuts from 2019 to 2021. Shelton showcases both multi-colored hand pulled prints and also three mini-series of body of works including 1) Crazy about Cats, which highlights several linocut portraits and block printed merch, 2) Implements of Oppression, which etchings subjects include objects used by societies and Governments to suppress various peoples over time and which was inspired by the Black Lives Matters movement, and 3) Pandemic Portraits, a 4 set series of hand colored aquatint etchings inspired by the Pandemic and the isolation experienced during the health crisis here in the US.

Printmakers Inc is proud to present Pamela Day's solo exhibition titled "Curious Creatures: Animal Portraits." Pamela captures the personality of the animals she portrays and works primarily in etching and monoprint, whereby she hand colors the plate prior to printing. Pamela's inspiration comes from her own photos taken at farms, zoos, parks, and home.
