The Washington DC Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH and the Torpedo Factory Art Center present Rob Cloutier, owner of Digital History Studios.
Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality have the ability to enhance the education experience for museum visitors. Mr. Cloutier will focus on his involvement with the Newseum’s Berlin Wall Experience VR exhibit for the HTC Vive and how it has improved visitor engagement. He will present on key concepts for museum exhibit design, logistics of VR technology within exhibit space, as well as how to design VR experiences that are intuitive for visitors who have never tried the technology before. Mr. Cloutier will cover several issues of incorporating VR technology in large public venues and how they may be incorporated into an exhibit space.

About Rob Cloutier
Rob Cloutier, owner of Digital History Studios has been a 3D cinematic animator for the past 25+ years, 12 of which had been in the computer gaming field. He has worked on several high profile games such as Sid Meier’s Civilization IV, Sid Meier’s Pirates, Sid Meier’s Railroads, Rise of Nations and many other history-oriented titles. He has taught classes on 3D animation, and recently served as an Adjunct Professor at University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus (UMBC), teaching a course on Virtual Reality. He has also been active in the VR community organizing, hosting and presenting on several VR panel discussions for various groups in DC, Boston and Puerto Rico.
