It is the time of the year to crave sunny days and coastal flair featuring azure and indigo, turquoise and tiffany, periwinkle and classic navy!
Cool blue encourages calm, soothing tones and smooth sailing. Let aquatic art in glass, handpainted tableware and more evoke easy feelings. Blue buoys a mood with gems like sapphire and aquamarine in kilnformed glass and elegant bottle vases.
Enjoy a libation celebration with all handmade drinkware from comfort mugs to tumblers for punch with a punch and cocky cocktails. Find jugs and precious tiny treasures of espresso shots.
Brushpainted stoneware crab and swallow trays for starters, tapas, sushi by Tracie Griffith Tso of Reston, Va,
Be original and bring unique vessels to mark memories. Find vases in periwinkle palettes perfect for weddings that evoke summer hydrangeas and delphiniums. Or get breezy with saturated aegean accents echoing mediterranean vibes in glassy platters and ceramic centerpieces. On holiday? Bring a host a handy berry bowl or spoon rest with an original indigo eco-printed flora card.
Enjoy alfresco activities all summer and dress a sunny tablescape with a sculptural clay basket, witty pitcher and wine chillers to keep conversation flowing. Artisan trays share starters, sushi and sides. Ripen seasonal fruit in a countertop bowl then slice and dice for a picnic fruit salad. Kick back with carefree casual hues of classic dark wash denim, stone, acid or light-wash, blue is the hue.
For those on the hunt for shoredecor, find pottery and prints of crabs, fish, otters, turtles and other aquatic art. Sea glass takes on new meaning as deep shades make waves on trays, flow onto bowls and splash platters. Seafoam or turquoise glaze is the ideal gift for a destination or beach wedding under a cerulean sky.
Artists also look skyward for inspiration in avian blues of peacock and robin’s egg and the bright blue of bluebirds. More than blue skies might be smiling with the artistic surprises to discover in the gallery. Take wing into our wild blue yonder!
