George Tkabladze is an internationally recognized, award-winning sculptor and educator residing in DC metro area.
He received BFA and MFA in sculpture from Tbilisi Academy of Art (Tbilisi, Georgia). In 2001, he moved to the USA after receiving two consecutive artist’ residency grants, at Studio Midwest (Galesburg, IL) and Anderson Center (Red Wing, MN). Subsequently, he moved and continued his career as an artist and educator in the metro DC area. His exhibitions include (but are not limited to): DC Art Now 2022 - Finalists of the DC Commission on the Arts Art Bank Program grant, (Washington DC, 2022); Chianciano Art Biennial, Museo d'Arte Chianciano, (Italy 2022); London Art Biennale 2021 - Chelsea Old Town Hall (London UK 2021); “Artists at Work 2019” – Smithsonian Museum (Washington DC 2019-20); 3rd International Biennial of Art - European Museum of Modern Art (Barcelona, Spain 2019); Artists for the Jubilee, Basilica of Saint Paul, (Vatican/Rome, Italy 2015) Triennale Di Roma, (Rome, Italy 2014).

He is recipient of DC Commission of the Arts and Humanity 2023 and 2024 Art Bank Program grant; International Prize Velazquez - European Museum of Modern Art - (Barcelona, Spain 2019), Milan International Art Award (2017), International Prize Michelangelo (2015), International Art Award Raffaello Sanzio (2014), as well as presented with a title of Ambassador of Culture of the World (2014).
Currently he is a resident artist at the Torpedo Factory Art Center (Alexandria, VA) and teaches sculpture in various media, at The Smithsonian Museum Studio Art Program (Washington DC) and at The Art League School in (Alexandria, VA).
