Heiser works with mixed media gathering inspiration from nature. Her process often begins with a sketch narrative using bold colors, moving the story forward pulling unique lines, shapes, and taking risks with large brush work built up with various mixed media layered in Charcoal, Acrylic, Ink, Encaustic, Graphite, Pastels and Oils. Painting for nearly twenty years, Heiser’s love of plein air painting evolved into abstract realism through natures lines, making it bigger than life.
Heiser’s trade marks are her bold brush work and sweeping strokes of vibrant colors. She studied fine arts at the Corcoran College of Art and Design and the Alexandria Art league. She co-founded Les Artists Locale, Plein Air Painters of Alexandria. Created a recreational art program and taught rehabilitation patients at Mount Vernon Hospital. Her works have won several awards and can be seen on exhibit in DC, Maryland and recently at the National Institute of Health.
