Ann Barbieri was born in Washington, DC. She attended Trinity College there and later studied art at UCLA and The Corcoran School of Art. Her work had been called exuberant. She often starts with a scene from nature or an interior, working on paper and incorporating collage elements to achieve varied textures. Her paintings are informed by a lively sense of color. She draws regularly form the model and has completed many portrait commissions in her loose colorful style. Barbieri has exhibited in solo and group shows throughout the DC area, at Touchstone Gallery and, more recently, at the New Century Gallery in Williamsburg, VA
Ann Barbieri was selected as "Artist of the Year" in 2004 by the Friends of the Torpedo Factory.
She has had one-person shows at The Art League and at the Target Gallery in Alexandria, VA. . Her price range is $450-$3600. She often exhibits at local outdoor art festivals, namely Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival, McLean Project for the Arts Artfest, and Bethesda Row.
