Join us on Thursday, February 22 for a special evening talk about the 2017 Venice Biennale through the perspective of Torpedo Factory artist Mirella Belshe (Studio 27) and a panel of invited guests. Hear a firsthand account of one of the art world's most respected events, featuring photo highlights and personal anecdotes from the biennial celebration. Presented in partnership with the Friends of the Torpedo Factory and the Torpedo Factory Artists' Association.

Lyric Prince: Post-Grad Artist Talk

As she enters her final month at the Torpedo Factory, Post-Grad Artist Lyric Prince shares about her experiences in the Post Grad Studio (Studio 12) in conversation with Liz Georges, board member at Arlington Arts Center. Hear about Lyric's art studies, her professional work so far, and how this residency has inspired her work.

ALX Pride Mix and Mingle with NOVA Pride

The Torpedo Factory Art Center stays open late until 9pm to host a special mingle in honor of the start of Capital Pride in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area and the 30th anniversary of the City of Alexandria's support of Pride Month. Stop by for music in the Grand Hall, drinks and snacks, and open artist studios and projects, including a Pride Selfie Station. Proceeds go to benefit NOVA Pride, Northern Virginia's fastest growing LGBTQ+ organization, with a mission to educate, advocate, and celebrate in service to the LGBTQ+ Community in the area.

New Art, New Voices in the New Project Studio

Studio 8 - New Project Studio

Juried by Amy Lokoff, independent curator and former visual arts coordinator at the Anacostia Arts Center, this 3-month artist residency is dedicated to fostering the next generation of artists in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area. 

Torpedo Talks: Matthew Harwood

The first Torpedo Talk of the new season highlights the work and career of Matthew Harwood (Studio 222). His work is influenced by his formal training as an architect. Learn about his current projects and hear vignettes from his long history at the Art Center.
