No creative writing experience required! Join Community Building Art Works for our monthly community building creative writing workshop in partnership with the Torpedo Factory Art Center. December’s workshop will be led by author Mary Guterson. Doors at 6:30, workshop begins promptly at 7 pm.
RSVPAbout the series: Led by accomplished authors, these generative workshops focus on the craft of writing as a tool for introspection, communication, and connection. Bring a pen, a notebook, and an open mind! Tickets are free, but we appreciate a donation of $10-$30 to support our programs. Your donation will fund similar workshops at military hospitals.
About the facilitator: Mary Guterson is the author of the novels We Are All Fine Here (Putnam) and Gone to the Dogs (St. Martin’s). Her writing has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, among them The Nervous Breakdown, The Believer, Zyzzyva, Tiferet, Hotel Angeline 36 Voices, and Pen USA’s Only Light Can Do That. A former public radio commentator, Guterson has lectured at MFA programs and writing conferences, and has taught fiction writing courses both privately and for Writing Workshops Los Angeles. She currently teaches college writing at Indiana University East.
