Workshops on the Waterfront: Hand Spinning with Nan Lopata

Enjoy a free workshop or live demo with a Torpedo Factory Art Center artist at the Waterfront entrance of the Art Center. There will be a different project every third Saturday of the month from April – September, 1 – 3pm.

May’s Workshop: Hand Spinning with Nan Lopata (Potomac Fiber Arts Gallery – Studio 29)

Nan Lopata is a fiber artist with the Potomac Fiber Arts Gallery in Studio 29. Her fiber specialty is spinning wool fleece into yarn and creating fine garments with the yarn. The Potomac Fiber Arts Gallery is a collective of artists who create quilts and hand woven scarves. Members create dyed silk scarves and garments. There are knitted hats and ones created with felting as well as hand woven garments. Nan is also a jewelry artist in Studio 205.
