Enjoy a free workshop with a Torpedo Factory Art Center artist at the Waterfront entrance of the Art Center. There will be a different project every third Saturday of the month from April – October, 1 – 2pm.
Join artist Patrick Sargent from Printmakers Inc, Studio 325, as he demonstrates screen printing. Silk screen or screen printing is a process where ink is forced through a mesh screen onto a surface. Using a photo emulsion and computer generated images, Patrick makes certain areas of the screen impervious to printing ink allowing for the stencil to be created. The stencil blocks the printing ink from passing through the screen in certain areas. The ink that passes through forms the printed image. Patrick will be printing on various materials and using a variety of colors to create free small works for our visitors.
