Reception: Friday, April 12, 7pm as a part of The Late Shift: Art on the Horizon
The Omi Collective in collaboration with the Torpedo Factory Art Center presents a group exhibition that features art by local female-identifying artists based on the theme, Women Who Run with the Wolves.
“The old one, the One Who Knows, is within us. She thrives in the deepest soul-psyche of women, the ancient and vital wild Self. Her home is that place in time where the spirit of women and the spirit of wolf meet- the place where the mind and instincts mingle, where a woman’s deep life funds her mundane life. It is the point where the I and the Thou kiss, the place where, in all spirit, women run with the wolves ”
-Clarissa Pinkola Estes
About the Omi Collective
Founded by artist Naomi Christianson, The Omi Collective organically grew out of a desire to make art more affordable while allowing the proceeds to be reinvested to support artists to continue creating. It started with the idea of taking Naomi’s art and finding a means to reproduce her artistic vision on household and fashion items. It was important to find a means to do this maintaining the artist’s uniqueness, authenticity, and aesthetic.
