Join us for the reception of pour on Second Thursday! Both featured artists will be demonstrating their unique processes on this night.
Painter Jennifer Brewer Stone demonstrates her poured resin paintings. Brewer Stone’s pieces combine honey-like resin, sometimes in multiple layers, acrylic paint, and metallic pigment. The resin flows over the surface like water and cannot be controlled entirely–similar to nature. Certain colors bloom within the resin or create cells, replicating natural elements.
Jeweler Whitney Staiger demonstrates cuttlefish casting. Cuttlefish casting is an ancient form of casting that involves carving into the bones of a cephalopod and pouring in molten metal. Each piece is entirely unique, with the texture of the bones creating an amazing addition to the overall jewelry design.
