During her summer stay, visiting artist Betti Pettinati-Longinotti has been creating a series of portraits with vitreous painting on glass. For the September Morrison House Presents program, she will talk about her series as well as the history of this technique. Pettinati-Longinotti, from Winston-Salem, N.C., has created glass art for almost 40 years. As a member of the Fraternity of St. Clare, her spirituality shines through her work. Her ecclesiastical, commercial, and artistic architectural glass installation have been internationally exhibited. She is a member of Piedmont Craftsmen, Artworks Gallery/Winston-Salem, and the American Glass Guild. She is working in Studio 316 until the end of September.
Morrison House Presents is a monthly salon series exploring Alexandria’s heritage and culture organized by the Friends of the Torpedo Factory Art Center, the Alexandria Archaeological Commission and the Morrison House Hotel. Guests can participate in a lively conversation with artists, authors, and archaeologists who live and work in Alexandria.
