An Official Event of the National Cherry Blossom Festival
Celebrate the Cherry Blossoms during the height of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. View cherry-blossom-inspired works of art throughout studios and galleries on all three floors as part of the Art Center’s Late Shift, a monthly second Friday gathering from April – October. Enjoy music and live art demonstrations from participating artists. Free, All Ages
The event will feature:
- Michiko Okuma: Origami demonstrations and hands on teaching
- George Mobille: Koto performance, from the Washington Toho Koto Society
- American Institute of Architects (AIA) Northern Virginia: Cherry Blossom Hands-on Design Project – part of April’s Architecture Month.
- Printmakers Inc.: Monotype printmaking demo
- Mobile Art Lab: Artist Sierra Barnes
Enjoy a reception for the Alexandria Library Teen Winter Creativity Contest from 7 – 8:30 PM Site Two.
This event is part of the Cherry Blossom Block Party at the Waterfront including a Cherry Blossom Dance Party with the Mobile Art Lab! (7 – 10 PM) Presented by the Alexandria Office of the Arts.
