Join us for Winter Welcome at the Torpedo Factory Art Center! Step into a festive atmosphere filled with holiday music and creative cheer. Explore open artist studios, find unique handmade gifts, and enjoy seasonal activities as we kick off the winter season together.

Enjoy free drinks with BAR RO’D™️ Mobile Bartending, food, and music as Art Center artists celebrate new and returning customers.

Every 2nd Friday of the month now through December 2025, Torpedo Factory Art Center is open late. Explore the building full of artists, enjoy music, art activations, and ignite your creative spirit! These events are free.

Beer, Wine, & Hors D’oeuvres | Grand Hall | 7-10 pm 

To welcome the winter season with cheer and share thanks with our entire TFAC community, we will have a selection of drinks and snacks available complimentary to guests. ID required for alcoholic beverages.  

Crab Shack Music | Grand Hall | 7-10 pm 

The local musicians of Crab Shack Music will enliven the evening with a performance of holiday classics and a selection from The Great American Songbook.  

Lotus Ornament Crafting | Grand Hall | 7-9 pm 

Join former post-grad resident artist Sookkyung Park in crafting paper lotus ornaments. Sookkyung will be teaching simple origami folds and participants will take home a small ornament perfect for holiday or year-round decorating! 

Printmaking Demo | Grand Hall | 7-10 pm 

Join TFAC artist Samantha Shelton as she demonstrates linocut block printing with an etching press! 

Made in ALX Pop-Up Market | Grand Hall | 7-10 pm 

A selection of Made in ALX artists, makers, and authors will be on-site, sharing their various creations to the public, all available for sale!  

  • Spite House, The Latest Old Town Mystery 

John Wasowicz will be signing and selling Spite House and Daingerfield Island, both fun mystery books in his Old Town Loves Mystery series.  

  • Robin Jordan Art & Designs 

Original printed totes, pouches and pillows, along with paintings and pen & inks. 

  • Iris paper folding by Nicole Gauvin 

Handmade greeting cards and artwork featuring iris paper folding using upcycled materials. There’s love in every crease. 

  • Coconut Apricot Wax Candles by Acqua Candles 

A selection of 8 oz, 2 oz, and tea light candles will be available. Homemade with apricot coconut wax on black and gold tins. 

  • Reworked Clothing and Accessories by bbugnug 

Using entirely secondhand materials, I customize clothing and accessories with block printing, patchwork, embroidery, and painting! 

  • Jewelry and Hair Accessories by Divine Creations 

Handmade jewelry and hair accessories for kids and adults. 

  • Painting, Drawing, and Fine Art by Walter Gordon
    Original paintings and drawings, primarily portraits, animals, and still life. 
  • Self-Care and Mental Health Tools by Ambitiously You 

Self-Care and Mental Health Reminders to be Ambitiously You! Mirror Affirmations (customizations available), mugs, stickers, punch needle kits (can demo), journals, some special holiday items using laser engraver. 

  • DIY Quick Pickle Station by The Spicy Grasshopper 

Guests can grab a jar and build their own quick pickles with herbs, spices, aromatics and fresh vegetables. Additional goodies make from upcycled food are also available for purchase, like whole banana (and peel) chocolate chip banana bread, candied pecans, candied orange rinds, and ready to eat pickles.
