Korean artist Eunsook Lee transforms the Target Gallery with her site-specific work, Dispersed Family. With this installation, Lee explores what it means to be a family maintaining connections across the globe. She uses black-light-sensitive threads, resulting in a dramatic fluorescent palette. The glow-in-the-dark threads represent relationships that are both continuous, yet free in their own space. She weaves them together with layers of letters, photographs, and seeds to represent the hope for possibilities and regrets of separation.
This exhibition is the first of Target Gallery’s new annual Special Exhibition series.
Opening Reception: Saturday, April 18 • 3-5 pm • Artist Talk at 4 pm
