Java Jolt Lecture: Almost a Boom – A Brief History of New Alexandria

Friends of Alexandria Archaeology (FOAA) is sponsoring a Java Jolt Lecture with author Jay Roberts. Jay will discuss the little known neighborhood of New Alexandria, which was proclaimed the “Coming Manufacturing Metropolis of the South” in 1893. Come learn about this amazing, but forgotten bit of local history. Light refreshments will be served. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended. Jay is the author of River to Rails: A Guidebook to Historical Markers in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.
