Artist Sheryl Oring is bringing her “I Wish to Say” project to Alexandria where visitors are welcome to dictate messages to the next president, watching as their words materialize on postcards through the keys of a vintage typewriter. The tour aims to capture the pulse of the nation during the final stretch of a historic election. Oring uses carbon paper to create two copies of each message: one sent to the White House and one preserved for her growing archive, which now includes over 4,300 postcards from across the nation. This event is free and open to everyone.
