Alice Mostoff's color filled images are vigorous, energetic and gestural landscapes and abstractions. These explosive works convey a sense of rhythm and spontaneity. Her paintings, monotypes and collages are found in private and corporate collections throughout the world, as well as the National Museum of American History, Washington D.C. and the Arts and Embassies Program. Her work is in several publications including the William and Mary Review, and she has received a number of awards for her paintings, most recently from the Elliott Museum in Stuart Florida.
Mostoff has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hunter College in New York City, has done graduate work at Brooklyn College and has studied at the Brooklyn Museum, the Art League in Alexandria, Virginia and Northern Virginia Community College. She is an associate artist at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia.
