Julia Kwon: More Than A Body

Interdisciplinary artist Julia Kwon creates sculpture and textile art that explore reductive representation, othering, and objectification, in relation to ethnicity and gender as a Korean American woman. Kwon was chosen from nearly 130 artists from across North America for this annual competitive opportunity for a solo show. Memento Mori

Opening Reception: Friday, October 11 Exhibition Juror: Laura Roulet, independent curator and writer According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, “Memento mori” is the literal Latin translation for “‘remember (that you have) to die”. The purpose of this exhibition is to explore death as a concept and how it affects our lives.
