January Exhibit Opening Reception

January 10, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Our January special exhibit, “Performing Statistics” is going up in the gallery! “Performing Statistics” is a project collaboration by ART 180 and Legal Aid Justice Center. The exhibit connects incarcerated youth at the Richmond Juvenile Detention Center with artists, legal experts, and advocates to radically reimagine Virginia’s juvenile justice system. This project asks the question, “How would criminal justice reform differ if it was led by incarcerated youth?” This exhibit seeks to provide the answer through virtual reality experiences, photography, murals, and interactive audio instillations that use human touch to activate stories from youth in the system.

Exhibit Dates: January 8–February 3, 2019
