SUMMARY:Creative Development Series: Spatial Audio Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Instructor\, Eric Lyon\, Professor of Practice\, Scholl of Performing Arts\, Virginia Tech. \n \nFree  .  RSVP required \nSpatial audio is a critical component of everything from gaming to simulation and training to immersive installations. Participants in this workshop will experience the creative possibilities of spatial audio using a multichannel speaker array. As part of this workshop\, participants are encouraged to bring in their own field recordings (however samples will be provided)\, which will be spatialized during the workshop. Among techniques explored will be point-source panning\, perimeter panning\, and ambisonics. \nParticipants in this workshop will experience the possibilities of immersive audio in its most basic configuration – a quadraphonic speaker array.
