Patricia Howard is an artist and educator based in Alexandria, Virginia. She currently teaches studio art classes in photography with the Smithsonian Associates in Washington, DC and is an Associate Artist at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria. She has completed two residencies in Ireland and in 2018 she attended the Master Photography Retreat in France as well as a one month residency (with fellowship) at the Vermont Studio Center.
Previously an Assistant Professor of Art at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania; Howard’s work was featured in a solo exhibit at the Juniata College Museum of Art and she has participated in juried shows at the Anthenaeum in Alexandria, VA; Redline Arts Center in Denver; Rathfarnum Castle in Dublin (Photo Ireland); and at many other locations. She has an exhibit scheduled of her "House to House" series in January 2019 at the Photoworks Gallery at Glen Echo Park. A graduate of the University of Delaware, she received her MFA from Penn State University.
Patricia's photography focuses on conceptual and documentary approaches and incorporates a strong element of storytelling.
