I use hard press paper and/or square format 20x20 canvases as my medium of choice.
I start by covering my canvases and frequently my papers with a black gesso and this forms the base of my artwork. Then I start forming layers on the medium by using old text, glittering papers, aluminium foil, sand, gel and paint. I mostly use acrylic and hardware store paint together with hardware tools to cover or uncover the underlying layers. I give depth, shape and texture to my paintings by tearing, wrinkling and doing deformation on the materials I use.
I started painting and forming an appreciation of fine arts when I was a teenager, though it was my literature major in college and graduate school that guided me to base them on stronger grounds. After I moved to United States, I continued my studies on photography and digital media. During this time I have also participated in various art exhibitions.
