I am a professional artist educated in the Netherlands and, for the last 25 years, have focused on the joy of painting landscapes in oil either en plein air, with all its challenges, or in a studio setting. My interests lie in capturing the effects of light, mostly at dawn, or dusk. Reflections of this light will often be in water, showing nature in her quiet mood.
Although I enjoy painting out of doors I consider my large compositions to be the landmarks of my career. They are fueled by memory, painting experiences, and explorations that have taken me along the Eastern seaboard of the United States and to Europe.
