The Nation’s Guest: Lafayette in Alexandria, 1824

A new exhibit, “The Nation’s Guest: Lafayette in Alexandria, 1824” features a collection of artifacts excavated from various sites in Old Town associated with the Marquis de Lafayette’s 1824 visit to Alexandria. Learn about the elaborate parade organized by the inhabitants of Alexandria for the Marquis on October 16, 1824. Also on display, is an edition of Lafayette’s memoires, published in Paris in 1794.
